Radio Scripts, Volume 2
There's hardly a
Christian family with children that has not heard Focus on the Family's
radio series Adventures in Odyssey. Lillenas's second volume of
Odessey scripts is by veteran Focus writer and one of the radio show's
founding father, Phil Lollar. Again, Paul McCusker has compiled, edited,
and written the collection's special introductory chapter.
Each script
is in its original radio format. That means the stories are written to
be read as readers theatre or as a radio program, but probably not
staged as live theatre-though some adventurous groups might find it fun
to try. Indications for sound effects and music cues have been retained.
These scripts will be a welcome addition to kids' Sunday School classes,
youth acting troupes, VBS projects, or any place else children want to
get involved with the stories' familiar characters and intriguing plots.
Volume 2 has the following scripts:
Paul
McCusker is the creative content director for Focus on the Family. He
has been a writer of fiction, nonfiction, and drama since 1979. His work
includes over forty published novels, full-length plays, dramatic sketch
collections, and song lyrics. For the Adventures in Odyssey
series alone, he has written over 200 half-hour radio episodes, eighteen
novels, and two screenplays for the best-selling animated videos. He has
dramatized many classics for Focus on the Family Radio Theatre,
including A Christmas Carol and Jan Karon's At Home in Mitford.
He also wrote and directed the Peabody Award–winning Bonhoeffer: The
Cost of Freedom and created the highly acclaimed Father Gilbert
Mysteries series. Paul lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his
wife, Elizabeth, and their two children.
