How long have you been a fan of Adventures in Odyssey?
Probably since I was five or so -
around 1990. I think the 1st episode I ever heard was "First Love" when Connie
was dating a guy who wasn't a Christian. I also remember hearing "Where's Your
Daddy?" (Julie Myers & family) and "Missing Person" (non Harley episode where
Rodney runs away).
What is your favorite episode of all time?
I like episodes with lots of
emotion and something to really think about.
My top favorites are:
Pamela Has a Problem
The Mortal Coil
Living in the Grey
Father's Day
Anything with the Myers family
And definitely Someone to Watch Over Me
What is your favorite AIO web site?
Whichever one will give me the
information I want when I want it.
If you could meet one actor, who would you meet and why?
Hal Smith - that's if I could meet
him, but since he died, meeting him would be an impossibility. I would ask him
why he felt Odyssey was the most gratifying thing he ever did in his life.
Which character do you resemble the most and why?
Probably somebody like Isaac
Morton. He did a lot of questioning himself (as do it) and his genuine want to
figure out and do what's right is something that I try to do as well, not
because of that character, but because of who I am.
Who is your favorite character and why?
You mean favorite characters
(plural). Mr. Whittaker because of his personable self & just his friendliness &
God fearing beliefs. Connie because she's just a cool person. Jimmy Barclay
because he seemed like the regular teenage kid. And Nick because he's a great
personality at Whit's End.
In your opinion, what do I need to change about my website?
I don't know too much about your
website, so I can't say very much about that. But maybe try to get more reviews
on shows that have never been reviewed.
If you could change anything about AIO, what would it be and why?
Long term character development.
Like Nick at Whit's End - he's a great addition to Whit's End staff, but he is
not used often. The reason Connie & Eugene became so popular is that their
characters were written as regulars. Also, character development (aka - it's
okay to get Jason or Connie married). Many fans said that Mitch was "just not
right for Connie" or that "he didn't treat her right." Everything that happened
on those shows was what the writers wanted to happen. So, the whole thing could
have ended differently if the AIO makers had wanted it to. So, I guess I would
say, if Odyssey has a character that listeners now perceive as a regular, either
keep them on or give an explanation in the storyline of why they left. I would
also got back to doing the show all year long instead of the "season" shows.
That way, you're not bound to just a certain amount of shows in 2 months.
How do you imagine Whit's End and the town of Odyssey?
Whit's End is a rectangular shaped
building. It's longer than it is wide. When you walk in, the counter is on your
right, and the tables are on the left, with the booths in the back. The stair
case is between the counter and the booths. It starts with a few steps and then
rounds a corner the rest of the way to the 2nd floor. The kitchen is behind the
area behind the counter. And the servant stair case (a straight stair case with
no turns or corners) is in the back of the kitchen to the left, right next to
the kitchen's door outside.
As far as the town of Odyssey,
it's just a regular town with roads and houses and malls and sidewalks.
If you had your own AIO site, what would you put on it?
Any and all information about AIO
that I could get a hold of (actor pics, & even video footage of live shows, and
trailers for the Odyssey cartoons). Reviews for each episode. A forum for fans
to make ideas for future episodes. Maybe even have contests for scripts and see
if AIO would use any of the winning entries.
What is your favorite section of
whitsend.org?
Wonderworld (though it is not
accessible currently).
What is your favorite section of the Odyssey Scoop, my site?
I really like pictures of actors
and interviews with actors.
Do you have any comments or questions?
I think Odyssey is great, but hope
that they will get characters more involved, like Katrina, Nick, Connie
(anymore), Jack & Joanne, Jason, & June Kendall so that they can keep the
"regular" cast members' presence on the show.
