Album 67

Hidden in all this dust lies the hypothesis of many AIO fans. What do you feel is sure to happen, and what should stay buried? Chris says keep listening, we say speculate.

Album 67

Post

Hey guys.
Album 67 is called
More Than Meets the Eye
It has an episode with everyone's favorite homie
Wyatt Perkins
And another episode with
Morrie Rydell (oh man oh man)
One of the episodes is called
"A Sacrificial Escape," but that episode isn't a multi-part episode (although there will be one)
Yay!!

Doesn't line up with the summary on AIO Wiki unless it's an A/B/C storyline

Since 5/6 episodes have been released on the club does anyone have any thoughts or discussions about them. BTW, Nightmares by Constance part 2 has been released (most likely a mistake), I would recommend listening to both parts together, as I almost felt like I was listening to an Agatha Christie story. as much as Jillian's scenes were entreating, it did feel like it took away a little bit of the suspense.

Yeah I agree. Jillian wasn't quite as annoying as she usually is, and honestly, I could almost see her with Jason in this episode. He's still probably like 15+ years older than her though so it's still creepy and Jason deserves so, so much better. Anyway, I liked the episode as a whole. I think the acting was really good, the storyline was entertaining in as much as it kept me listening. I think it's interesting how similar these types of episodes are. It felt very 'To Find a Penny' to me. Drugs, stealing stuff, having Jason check things out, undercover couples for fan service, etc. Jason irritates me a little in these since he's used so much as a Dues Machina of sorts. I love Jason, don't get me wrong, but it puts a weird vibe on things. I also don't like it when Odyssey takes a third of an album to tell a story about characters we'll never hear from again. It's fine when you've got 12 episodes in an album, but when there's only 6, and you've got the AIOC to fill, it would work so much better to keep the main stream album episodes about the characters we already know.

I didn't mind Jillian in these episodes at all. She's definitely starting to grow on me as a character. In these episodes in particular, you can tell she she's shaping up to be a good foil for Connie, and I actually really liked her interactions with Jason here (minus the shipping vibes--that must NEVER be a thing--like Penny said, Jason deserves SO MUCH BETTER).

What I would have liked a bit more of in these episodes is CONNIE! From the title, I was hoping for a good bit of character development for Connie, but after the first episode, I felt the focus shift more onto Jason and Jillian, and Connie really took a back seat. What I'd really like to see sometime is my galpal Connie saving the day in dramatic fashion for once. But I digress.

I do agree that this episode used a lot of the same plot devices as other episodes, but I didn't really mind it. On the whole, it's just a fun, interesting episode.

Reviving this thread because I have finally listened to the album. ;)

I don't think anybody has mentioned A Sacrificial Escape yet. I need to listen to the whole album again, but this might be my favorite of Album 67.

The "mysterious" voice in this episode (Morrie obviously) was interesting as well as thought provoking. It makes me wonder if Morrie is running things on his own, or if he has the "boss". Is he creating all these mysteries for Emily to solve because he secretly likes her? Or is there a deeper/darker reason why he is setting her up? Something that will involve the whole town of Odyssey at a later date? Also, I am wondering if Suzu is Morrie's accomplice, or if she truly has no idea what is going on.

Nightmares By Constance 1 & 2 had my attention. I enjoyed the mystery and it had a nice plot twist at the end. I also loved Detective Polehaus's reappearance. Even though Jillian is not really my favorite character in the world, I am surprised no one has mentioned how good of a "spy" she was at getting that hotel key. Smooth, Jillian.

I noticed Whit hasn't been the central character in every episode like he used to be. The kids don't come to him with their problems anymore. It feels like Whit's past role (counseling kids) has been spread out among various characters. Jules comes to Connie and Jillian, Buck comes to Eugene and Katrina, Wyatt and all the Parkers comes to David, etc.. Honestly, isn't that how it is supposed to be? You come to your parents/guardians first with your problems and most important decisions?

Yeah. I would honestly love it if in Album 69 Connie, Eugene, and Jason decided to put Whit in a nursing home and had to go through all his stuff. I think it would be so much more meaningful than just killing him off suddenly. And then maybe Jeff and Connie could end up together through that somehow...

I had/have a bit of a wild theory regarding Morrie. What if he's a relative of the Blackguaard's, or knows of Dr Blackguaard and want's to follow in his footsteps? The way he uses people to do things for him and the way he seems to almost manipulate people seems to be almost identical to the way that Regis Blackguaard worked. It seems that Morrie knows who might be able to stop him and is testing them to work out how to avoid/defeat them for when he carries out whatever plans he has. It would also 'bring back' Dr Blackguaard in a way without actually bringing him back, especially due Earl Boen's retirement. I think Morrie and Suzu are like Regis and Edwin. Edwin knew what Regis could do and had done in the past, but never knew what exactly Regis was up to, just that it wasn't good. Suzu has a good idea that it's morrie, but she won't say anything as she can't prove anything, or is afraid of what Morrie might do if she does say something.
