Episode Ideas

Post

Not sure if this is already a topic, but I'm too lazy to look it up. So here we are! A place to discuss episode ideas! They can be rational, completely ridiculous, or really anything that comes to mind.

And of course I just started an entire topic so I could share an episode idea... did you really have to ask?

So! Jared and Monty in a secret agent adventure. I REPEAT. FLIPPING JARED DEWHITE AND MONTY WHITTAKER WORKING TOGETHER ON A SECRET AGENT CASE.
Just think of it! The two of them just strutting out down a parking lot as if they ruled the world, as a building explodes behind them.
Don't claim you can't see it.
This needs to happen.

(yeah I'm done with my intense fangirling.....................for now....)

"Let me get this straight. I bet all those non-friends of yours try to embarrass you about your love for that stuff, right? So, you almost feel like you have to hide your treasures away and can only take them out in secret on rainy days when your mom goes to the store to get more liver and nobody is around to berate your sensitive spirit. Is that what you’re saying?" -Jay Smouse

Hey, this is a really good idea! If it's alright, I'll expand it.
Working title: ???
Monty has a new assignment with the Secret Service, and it turns out that Jared is his partner. The two start the case, but realize that it's tougher than they expected. So, they go to Odyssey for help from Jason. Jason says he'd love to help, but he can't since he's retired. However, he does give them a little bit of info they need to solve the case.
Monty and Jared are back on the case, but Jared finds some of Jason's advice confusing. He suggests they scrap his plan. Monty insists they do it his way. The two argue and eventually split up. Monty follows Jason's instructions but can't finish it on his own. Jared ends up arresting the wrong person.
Theme: Good instruction

I know that this sounds like a couple of other episodes (like "Pilgrim's Progress, Revisited, Part 2", "The Pushover", and "The Taming of the Two") but this one does have some tweaks. How does this expansion sound?

EDIT: Perhaps we can fit Mr. Skint in here somehow...?

Hmm... may I interpret your punctuation?

Some guy named "Wind" and Mr. Skint are the bad guys, and Miss Polly is the good girl (usually it's a guy; time for a change!). Jared thinks she's bad and Monty thinks she's good, so Jared arrests her and Monty sets her free, and then they're mad at each other.

Interesting concept; I was thinking that the person Jared arrests doesn't have anything directly to do with his and Monty's falling out, but we could go that way.
We'd need to develop the back story of "Wind" first. Why is he named Wind? Since he's not the entirely main focus of the episode, I'm not entirely sure his name should be the title.
Perhaps this could be a two-parter.

Maybe. . . . The Whisperer should be in jail, though, and I have a hard time with bringing villains back that have already come to justice. I was going to suggest the Chairman, but if he is included, the Novacom will continue, and I don't want that. I think that a new character would be best.

I think your right. Well so about the title what do you think? What about this episode leads to a whole new thing like Novaacom or When doctor Blackred came?

Let's wait for PennyBassett to give her opinion since she had the general idea in the first place.

This sounds good! Perhaps a little on the predictable side... but good! Maybe if there's a cost involved. Like, they end up splitting up, and because of that one of them gets captured and some people are hurt or killed or something. I like the idea of fitting Mr. Skint into it! Hm...

Okay, Jared and Monty return to Odyssey while on another case. They make it an excuse to visit some old friends, but when they get there, they find out that Buck Oliver is missing! Jared's curiosity and anger are sparked, so he immediately wants to go find him. Monty, on the other hand, is cautious about going on a mission without consulting with their superiors first. After praying about it, Jared realizes that God is telling him to look for Buck. Jason offers to give him advice on how to deal with the situation (from a retired agent's pov). Jared claims he knows what to do and refuses help, meanwhile Monty stays and listens to Jason's insight. Jared goes off on the case, eventually finding Buck. However, because he didn't stay and listen to Jason, he ends up getting shot by Mr. Skint in the leg. Through information Jared had given them, Jason and Monty end up successfully capturing Mr. Skint, using the tactics Jason had told him about. The lessons would be about God's calling coming before man's, and the dangers of prideful independence. I think it'd also be interesting to maybe have Jason struggle with feeling like he's losing his purpose in Odyssey, and in the end, he becomes an online assistance consultant (we'll pretend that's a real job) for agents.

Hey! This could actually be apart of an album! Give me a couple days and I'll have Album 65 planned out!

I like this, I really do! Although, I think that the part about Jared getting shot would be a bit too violent. And, I don't really think that it's a good idea to either catch Mr. Skint or to bring Jason back into the spy scene. Still, I love this idea!
I'm thinking we could move these ideas to a new thread dedicated to this episode, and leave this thread open to other ideas.
