One More Name.

I'm aware that most of you probably don't have the Club, I'm also aware that the third part hasn't come out yet. I was very reluctant to listen to it, in fact, I listened to it last night at 11. Poor decision.
I know a lot about the Holocaust, I've been to a Holocaust museum, I've heard a speaker who was a young Jewish Boy during the Holocaust and survived. I was aware how messed up it was. But this episode, I don't know if I like it or not. They did an amazing job on it. But It scared me, It showed me how Messed up it was. As I said I was aware how horrible it was. But this it opened it up to a new light. One of the parts that horrified me the most was where Jews volunteered to go to the camp. And it turned out they were volunteering to go to their DEATH. And how the little girl was so hopeful she would see her mother, even though she had just been sent to die. This episode may be one of the only episodes that deserve that warning. How do you feel about the episode? I would love to know.

I'm definitely impressed how they handled everything thus far. A story on the Holocaust, esp for kids, is going to have to be treated very carefully to both show the absolute horror of those times, but also not freak out kids more than they can handle. (I'm a "kid" too (at almost 18 =p), and there were some parts that felt intense for me also) Listening to this reminded me of how much I love stories of the "underground," where people went against the majority, went against even the government, to save other people. To do what Jesus wanted them to do, not what everyone else did. To die to themselves so much they risked their lives and lives of their family, others around them, etc. These are truly inspiring stories. (The Hiding Place comes to mind, also) And I definitely could feel the horror in these episodes, esp the second one. My one sibling scoffed when they heard the Parental Warning at the first part, as it really was not bad whatsoever (imo). But that second part had it's moments. Nothing, like, extremely frighting, but... Ok, what is coming to my mind is the way they said "Extermination Camps." It was only mentioned once (I think?), and didn't include an explanation, but I could hear the shiver going through the actresses' spine, as mine was also shivering. It just felt real to me.

My only complaint would be that it was very difficult to discern the voices, esp a the beginning of the first episode.

I also had a hard time desiring the Voices, but I played along. I agree with everything you said. The first part really wasn't bad at all. Maybe it's because I listened to it at Night. It made me angry to be honest. It made me want to make a difference. It didn't really scare me, I just wasn't really expecting that I guess...

Wow. I honestly don't even know where to begin with this episode. I agree with everything that has been said so far. This has been an incredible, heart in your thought episode. I listened to this episode while doing my math homework. Also a mistake. I had to leave the room because I was sobbing. It left me simply mournful. I too have been to a holocaust museum but this took what really happened in the Second World War to an entire new level. It was an absolutely breathtaking episode. I'm very excited to hear the third part.

This is probably one of my all-time favorite episodes. I know a lot about the Holocaust but this went deeper than just facts. This went to the heart of that time and told the story from a different perspective. That time was horrible yes, but there were many people who put their life on the line to do what they knew in their heart was right. When the parents let their children go, they were heartbroken but hopeful. They wanted to hope that their child would have another chance at life, a chance they thought was lost but people God had put there at that time saved those children's lives. This episode definitely is not for everyone. My sister would not be able to handle it very well (she is 9) Like Ox said it was hard for me, I think its hard for everyone because that time was completely horrific. But I do think that they covered it well and in a way that most everyone could understand. And like I said before people put their lives on the line to do what was right and by the grace of God they saved tons of lives.

Note to Self: Stop.Listening.To.This.at.Midnight.
Yea I did it again. Night is like, the only time I have any free time. This 3rd part concluded the story well. The only part that really got me was when all the children were sending her letters when they were all grown up. This one didn't get me like the 2nd part did but overall a good ending. The torture really didn't bother me that much, to be honest....Yea I'm kinda weird like that. Kudos to the Odyssey team for creating an episode about one of the darkest times of history for kids, it gives me even more respect for them that they don't shy away for a hard lesson

It's weird. I was more disturbed by this episode than I usually am by stuff. Maybe the harsh reality of it? I mean the fact that it really happened. It did make me cry though.

Same, though, same. I cried also. I am like that though. I thought it was pretty great for being of the waves. They captured everything so perfectly for that time. I mean its hard to capture that much emotion  over the radio but they did a great job I think. (Still makes me cry though :D )

Yea, I also think the name is perfect. It really captures the tone of the episode overall.
