Random stuff I have created

Post

I'm not sure exactly what all I'll post on here, but here is a poem I wrote a few months ago when I was especially struggling with all the hard stuff going on in my life. My poem isn't completely perfect, I need to work on the rhythm, but I go back and read it when I'm struggling with my lot in life.

Life is not fair, I angrily say,
As tears slip out, and fall away.
So many others, have lives so fine.
None so pitiful as mine.

I stretch my hands towards heaven, and shout,
"God why? Your love, I'm starting to doubt."
If your love, is a thing that is true,
Then Why, all this stuff, must I go through?

I'm broken, I cry, my spirit is torn.
I'm very tired, my heart is worn.
This stuff that's buried deep inside,
it soon will eat me up alive

How do I deserve this more than others?
Why's it MY destiny, and not another's?

Then in my ear, a whisper so quiet,
Comes a still small voice, that says "don't fight it"
I have a plan, for this to work out,
You've got to trust me though, you cannot doubt.

A warmth spreads through me, I can tell God's there,
As I slowly lift my hands in prayer.
"God, I know you have a master plan,
And I don't understand it, I'm just a man,
But I will trust you through this stuff,
Because I know, when things get tough,
That you are taking me, a diamond, out of the rough

Thank you for sharing this with us; you managed to capture a lot in just a few verses (plus I admire anyone who care rhyme for more than 2 lines, lol).

That was great sing, very good. =) A few places were the meter's a little iffy, but you could just say it's a free-meter poem. :P ;)

Lovely. I adore the ending line. "A diamond, out of the rough". So very much true. :)
