I haven't had time to write more, but I did jot this down and I hope you like it.
It's about a slave in the Civil War
Could I?
I mean,
You never
Let me
Before.
What
Changed
Your mind?
You still
Think I’m
Colored
Nasty
Low-life.
That I deserve
To run naked
To bow before
You and the white.
You believe
That I’m
Destructive
Vulgar
Loathsome
Revolting.
My dark skin
Means to you
That I am
Stupid
Ignorant
Unclean
Appalling.
Guess what?
You’re right.
But if that is
What I am,
You are worse.
You abuse
Hurt
Beat
Shame
Kidnap
Steal
You take
EVERYTHING AWAY.
And now
God will take
Everything away
From you.

Thanks. ^.^ Maybe I should change the title of the topic since it's not all the same story.

It was a pretty good poem. I don't entirely agree with the concept of the poem despite being black.

The poem was strongly hatefully from the side of the Black. It isn't good or healthy.

Yeah, I realize that now. I also noticed that I said God would take everything away. God wouldn't be taking anything away. They'd be taking it away from themselves by not repenting of their sins. Whoopsadaisy.

God will take it away when they die or have died. Its just that the poem is strongly hateful over all. I didn't like the style it was written in either.

God is not taking anything away. They just failed their second chance that God gave them. They choose their future of their own free will. And I am not saying that all whites that had slaves never repented, or that all former slaves were hateful instead of grateful. :?
Anyways, I totally understand what you mean.

I agree with Blitz on the last part, but...He's also not a slave from the Civil War time period. That's whom the view point was from and whom it was intended for. Not necessarily all African Americans, but more so the slaves who were black.

True true. I might edit the poem and re-post it, when I find the time.

Ah but you do know Africans still hate America at least some of them. Malcolm X or the black Muslims. It just isn't a healthy view point to promote.

I didn't.... I kinda don't know why you're talking about Africa or Muslims.... So, if I am understanding right, you think that my poem is strongly hateful and untrue. Well it was hateful, but this character I was portraying didn't really know God the way that he/she should, and it was actually true, in some cases, many slaves hated their owners. But I (think?) I understand what you're saying and I hope you're not mad.
