What kind of clothes do you wear to church?
Who said anything about wearing PJ's to church? The church I attend is quite casual, and I usually will wear jeans or shorts and t-shirt. There already is a topic called What Kind of Clothes Do You Wear To Church? The two probably should be merged.
I normally wear a dress to church. Not a fancy dress or anything, just a plain dress. At my church it kinda depends on the family, because I know someone who always wears jeans and a t-shirt, and at my previous churches nobody ever wore anything too casual.

I just wear nice clothes that I normally don't wear. Kind of moderate, but not really normal. Sometimes a dress, or jeans and a nice shirt.
What about evening church?
I have always wondered why everyone dresses more casual for the evening service.
We are worshiping the same God both times and I personally don't see why our
dress should change.
I usually wear the same outfit for morning service as evening service - shirt and skirt.

Since I first got on here, my style has changed a lot. I went from ankle skirt to;

@Sam, When you say "we" you mean....?
In the summer, I usually wear a pair of jeans or knee (or just above) shorts and a tank-top or t-shirt.
My church is VERY lax. Most people take off their flip-flops the second they get there. Haha

Lol Pardon. My brain decided to stop working when your post went through the translate machine.

So, did you change churches, Bethany, or did you just decide to change with the church?

I grew up in a 7th Day Adventist church, so you had to dress very formally. (0-9)
Then our family went to a baptist church and it was a little less formal, but still. (9-11)
Now we go to Non-Denominational and I'm more comfortable. (14-16...)
So... the former.

Then you would've gone to the nondenominational church since you've been on here. Okay. I'm just trying to remember when you first came on here, and (though this forum has hosted attire/modesty conversations since its beginning) I'm not remembering you ever dressing differently, or at least not that vast of a change.

I wrote my age wrong. We've only been going to the Non-Denominations for about a year. After my dad had his seizure, we started going to church again. We hadn't gone because we only go to church as a family, but now my dad can't go at all.Bethany Shepard wrote:We home church... so... anything comfy! From basket ball shorts to comfy jeans... I've changed a LOT in the last few years. I used to wear ankle skirts and tshirt in a homeschooler way. Glad those days are in the past.

I usually wear the same as i do everyday: a dress! some of my dresses are nicer so i save those for good but i also wear some really casual dresses on sunday too. it usually depends on what mood i'm in. sometimes i feel like dressing up, other times i don't. our church is very informal.

Haha Beth, weren't those the best, though?Bethany Shepard wrote:

I usually wear a maxi skirt with a tank top or a sleeveless jean jacket (during the summer). Sometimes I'll wear my black skinny jeans (scandalous, I know) during the winter. If I feel really dressy, I'll wear a floor length dress or a shorter dress.

My friend HAS to wear a fancy dress to church. I think that's ridiculous. How does one have enough money to buy a fancy dress every time you outgow one???

If you were a dress every day Mandy, that is not causal.

Guess you must have gone to one of the conservative ones. The SDA culture has a pretty wide range of what's considered acceptable when it comes to dressBethany Shepard wrote:I grew up in a 7th Day Adventist church, so you had to dress very formally. (0-9)
Tiger Shadow. there can be casual dresses and more dressy dresses just as well as casual pants and dressy pants.
