3-D CD-ROM

Post

I was thinking about looking online for the 3-D CD-ROM game, but I don't know if it will work on Windows 8. Does anyone know? This is the game I'm talking about: http://www.aiowiki.com/wiki/3-D_CD-ROM

Although I have never played the game, I'm thinking that it wouldn't work. Mainly because the game looks pretty old and is probably not up to date with the software and computers we use today.

I think anyone who had it would do so, but be patient, it's only been 4 days.

I own this. I don't think it would work. But we don't have Windows 8.... I could try it on my dad's Windows 7 possibly. But we play it on our oldest computer that we only use for old games, so I kinda doubt it would work. But you could probably play the treasure of the Incas or the sword of the spirit

It wouldn't let me install it on Windows 8--something about it being 16-bit.

Works on Windows 7 around here, but definitely not 8.

The answer is almost certainly yes, the question is how much work you want to put into it.

To give you an idea:

http://www.freezenet.ca/guides/compatib ... -computer/

This is what you would likely be looking forward to if you are running W8 64bit. If you don't know, right click on the start button to get the control panel, the go to System (You might have to click on System and Security and then System if you are in category mode) and check the System Type.

If you are running a 32bit version... It is likely much easier, possibly as easy as compatibility mode, though people here would need to answer this as I don't have the game:

http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-run ... windows-8/

To start, just right click on the program that you can't load, choose properties, go to the compatibility tab and run the compatibility troubleshooter (Or manually choose the settings you want).

Wish I could help more, but don't have this one and it is rare enough that googling this is hard :p

I don't think Windows Xp mode is available in Window 8 (mine windows 8.1 doesn't anyway).

On Startup you should get an option.

If you were to wait for the free Windows 10 to come out, it would probably work with that. Although, even if it were to work, you would have to get the game, and it's super rare, probably worth hundreds of dollars, even though it has nearly worthless gameplay.

uhh no AIO album or game or whatever is worth hundreds of dollars. Supply is low and demand is also low. Bad combination.

Worthless gameplay? Are you referring to the plot of the game, or the viewpoint of it (i.e., first-person, third-person, etc.)?
Do you think you know music? Guess the hints at the end of each of my posts in A Musical Journey. (The name's a link. You can click it.)

The plot, it's short and extremely easy to complete.
