Revision: Upon listening to of the episode Cousin Albert, Lucy states she is not in high school for another two years. This would place her in either the beginning of 7th grade or the end of 6th grade. Based on this, the Lucy Method will be revised.

(But not now, I need to write 1300 words for nanowrimo)

Lindsey is mentioned in Emotional Baggage, when Connie's resentment toward Aunt Helen is due to the fact that Aunt Helen was the one to introduce Bill to Lindsey. In Father's Day, Bill comes to town and announces to Connie that he is marrying April. In Where Is Thy Sting?, June calls April to find that Bill has run off with Carol.

Ah, yes. I don't own any of those episodes (except for Where Is Thy Sting?, which I haven't listened to in several years). Whenever they come around, I usually don't listen to them because I listen to AIO with my siblings, and they don't want to hear those ones. I don't really either, but I do like to have heard every episode :jason

UPDATE:

I got Volume 7: On Thin Ice for Christmas, which caused me to realize something I'd never realized before. In the first few years of AIO, it took place in real time. Not that there was exactly one week between each episode; but one year of episodes covered one year of AIO time. Like the comic strip For Better or For Worse.
If you need proof, here it is. In a few different episodes, Whit mentions that his grandkids haven't been over in 2 years; thus it has been 2 years since A Member of The Family. And in The Visitors, they refer to the events of Peace on Earth as being "last Christmas".
Also, in The Best Vacation Ever, Family Vacation is referred to as being last summer.
Clearly this changed at some point. Whether it was when they started doing half as many episodes a year, or if it was even before that, I don't know.

I don't really think there is such a thing as 'Odyssey time.' It is one big goof, how it doesn't all fit together. It is a goof because all the mistakes that cause people to believe that there is a different time in Odyssey were unintentional. Everything is supposed to tie together, and it worked out in the beginning but the writers became careless.

Odyssey Time does exist. Time has been referenced in Odyssey, and if we can get all of these references together, we can form a semi-cohesive theory of how much time has passed in Odyssey.

Nicholas was in college then he was in middle school. That doesn't make sense.

For purposes of this thread, we're ignoring continuity errors. It's the only way to make it work. This entire thread is basically a compromise; trying to make the best of what we have and arrive at some sort of semi-logical conclusion.

I think the writer for that episode was new to the team, and to AIO in general. Can't remeber where I heard that from though...

It was Marshal Younger's 3rd episode.

I meant that I believe Odyssey time is the same as real time. Or at least it should be; ages and things not adding up is a goof.

Does Odyssey time really have to be real time? Time doesn't work that way in other shows, so I don't see why it should have to work that way in Odyssey. I think the best compromise is to just take the fact that's most recent and makes the most sense (for example, Mandy states in "True Calling" that she's fourteen, but then in "Out of Our Hands" she mentions that she was, as of that episode, eight months removed from her twelfth birthday, which is consistent with where she is in school).
it's not about 'deserve'. it's about what you believe. and i believe in love

No. Odyssey time is not real time by any stretch of the imagination.

I'd have to agree with Tiger and Mr. Whit's End on this one. I mean, it just doesn't make sense to me to claim that time is passing at a normal rate even though no characters are aging at that rate.

How many tv shows/movies/etc do you know that follow real time? Not many... There are a few, but most are not exactly on track with real time.

Hehe, Dr. Who follows real time ;-)
Question: Are posts like this considered spam? I mean, it's just a dumb comment that doesn't really add to the conversation...

Fellow Odyssians, I have cracked the case, the code that Odyssey lovers have been searching for for years. The question that puts all of aio just on the verge of reality yet keeps it so far. But today, I, Penny Bassett have uncovered, ODYSSEY TIME! Yes, it's really true! Under deep investigation, I have figured out that every 4 albums, is another year. That puts the entire Odyssey timeline at about 15 years. It also means that Connie is 30, Eugene is 33 and Wooton is 34, just to name a few. So please discuss this and if you want to see a full chart of the timeline and albums follow this link, http://insideaio.weebly.com/theories.html to my site and go to the bottom of the page. :wacky:
"Let me get this straight. I bet all those non-friends of yours try to embarrass you about your love for that stuff, right? So, you almost feel like you have to hide your treasures away and can only take them out in secret on rainy days when your mom goes to the store to get more liver and nobody is around to berate your sensitive spirit. Is that what you’re saying?" -Jay Smouse
