I think she is kind of fake and animated, but is okay. I would like her to be more of a side-line character though.

I think she's alright, but most of the episodes with the jones parker agency are a little annoying... I mean their mysteries aren't all that interesting.

Even though Emily is not my favorite, I like the Jones and Parker Detective Agency. I mean, kids are imaginative; kids like to imagine they're certain things, like detectives. I'm not being mean, but if these episodes annoy you, have you ever heard Lawrence Hodges? (Now, I like him, but I like almost all things Odyssey.) That boy was imaginative, in an unhealthy way. Whereas Emily and Matthew go back to real life after their case, Lawrence never could. He almost got kicked off a plane for yelling that it's going down, AND he claimed Harlow Doyle was kidnapped by bootleggers!

She's probably one of my favourites.

I don't really like her. I find that she is a little rude. I'd like to hear from Tamika again instead of her.

I'm not saying I don't like the idea of the detective agency, but the structure of the stories are somewhat weaker than others.

Game For a Mystery: The format is alright, but it leads one way, than another and then another and then finally a bird is the one that had the game.

Stage Fright: Same format, same idea. The whole thing feels like a scooby doo episode. You know there's not a real monster, but everyone is scared. And again the ending was too unpredictable. To have it be the guy with the hard to pronounce name and his bird?

The Malted Milk Ball Falcon: Same format; As the clues collect Emily doesn't really come to a solid conclusion because Whit is the culprit and no one really suspects that.

Something Old, Something New: The base of this episode was to bring Mitch back. The mystery itself again isn't all that solid of a mystery and the outcome isn't one that is easily figured out.

I do like Lawrence on the other hand. Yes, his imagination was a little out of hand at times, but I wouldn't say it was unhealthy. He loved to play and imagine little adventures for himself. I don't remember him almost getting kicked off a plane though. I believe you are referring to Aloha Oy so I may listen to that again. Then the episode you are referring to with Harlow, Harlow was kidnapped by bootleggers. But he didn't know it was bootleggers at the time. When he tried to tell Eugene and Whit, Eugene didn't believe him but Whit went with him to check it out and got kidnapped himself. Eugene later goes with Lawrence hesitantly and discovers that Lawrence was actually telling the truth this time despite his wild imagination.

I actually prefer the Lawrence episodes over the J&P agency episodes.

But the fact is they're kids. They're not going to go out and beat the FBI to solving some international threat from al-Qaeda or something. They're kids, that's all they are. They see something that isn't that big in the grand scheme of things, but they want to be detectives, so they try to solve it, and in the process Emily blows it up to make it look like something big. Have fun with them. That's what they were meant for.

I'm not saying that they're awful episodes. I simply don't like them as well as say A Name, Not a Number, or The Boy who Cried Destructo! I'm saying that these episodes lose the timeless feel, and feel more geared to the younger age group. That's not necessarily abad thing, but I just don't care for them as much.

Yeah! She always seems to be butting in to get her way and it gets annoying. I would rather see Lawrence (I don't like Lawrence very much) come back than have Emily.

I'm a bit sad as i find that so many AIO Soda Shop Board Members look down on Emily. She is charming and wonderful. The very things so many despise about her are the things that make her amazing: her passion, her boldness, her incredible natural talent for knowledge and deduction, her forcefulness, yes, even her rudeness. Can we frown on her for being unusually naturally talented? Would you slap Mozart on the wrist and say it's ridiculous to be composing music as a little child? Emily is all that a woman should be, and possibly the best role-model of all the female characters in the show today. YES, she is forceful. YES, she outspoken. YES, she speaks her mind. And that is what a female should be. Women need to know that there's a power in them, that they can speak out, that they can be whoever they want to be. Emily is the best of the new child characters, and will always have a special place in my heart. I cannot say it passionately enough. Thank you, AIO, for Emily Jones.

Pound Foolish, you say that she's forceful, and that she is all that a woman should be. However, the man is supposed to be the head of the house, and though the woman should be treated fairly, she should be somewhat subject to the man. In the way that Emily treats Matthew, if she treated her husband like that, that would be defying God's commandment.
