For the most part he was good, and you even got to see his smart side, like in "Not So Trivial Pursuits." His rap song in "Chores No More", left much to be desired.
Do you think you know music? Guess the hints at the end of each of my posts in A Musical Journey. (The name's a link. You can click it.)

In the trivia contest episode, Dwayne answered the practice question "What book is this quote from: 'Big Brother is watching you?'"
Dwayne promptly answered '1984'. Has anyone actually read this book? I read it because I thought it was a sequel to 'Animal Farm'. Does anyone know what's in there? How old is Dwayne again?

Dwayne was 11 in The Spy Who Bugged Me. Why, is it inappropriate or something? He might have just heard it somewhere. He didn't have to read the book to know that.

It was a controversial book if I remember correctly. George Orwell tended to do that. It was mostly just way over what a boy his age should be reading. It was just a few months ago I read it and it kept me from sleeping soundly.
To give you an idea of the book:
All the world is now only three super nations that are constantly at war.
The government in each has complete control over the people.
In every room of every apartment, there is a screen constantly blaring agenda, and has a camera so the government can see your every move.
Basically, the government has complete control of the press, so it will print the opposite of whatever is happening.
The main character risks his life by owning a diary and thinking.
Umm, all who go against the governments will meet a horrible and untimely end. (described in graphic detail)
It just bothers me a little that this would be on AiO. I think that someone was just not thinking when they put this in.
I don't have major problems with the book itself, it was written to warn of what could happen in the future. The main thing is that Dwayne is young, probably far too young to be reading such a heavy book.

Wow, that does sound creepy! My brother read it a little while ago, and he didn't say much about. I'm not sure if it creeped him out or not! It's already creeping me out! Animal Farm was an amazing book, (yes, I did read it) and I admire George Orwell's disapproval of absolute and dictatorial power. And, like I said before, Dwayne is a trivia geek. I doubt he read the book. He could have heard it somewhere.T.S. (myself) wrote:It was a controversial book if I remember correctly. George Orwell tended to do that.
