Ameraka, you've read Amish Vampires in Space? How was it? I've only heard about it, though it definitely sounds interesting. Did you like it?
I just finished Through the Balustrade by Mary Beth Dahl, a Christian fantasy YA novel by someone who went to college with my mom. It was pretty good, somewhat confusing in some parts, and I wouldn't say it's the best book I've ever read, but I liked the story, and I'm definitely interested in what's going to happen next. The characters were interesting and the world was creative.

I made a promise, Mr. Frodo. A promise. "Don't you leave him Samwise Gamgee." And I don't mean to. I don't mean to. - Sam from The Fellowship of the Ring movie

I like it so far. I'm maybe only 1/4 through; the vampires haven't really shown up yet. Just a menace in the background. I like how they portray the Amish society--it actually seems authentic, despite the fact that it's set in the future on a different planet.Starflower1234 wrote:Ameraka, you've read Amish Vampires in Space? By Anna Carey? If so, agreed!! I skipped a few chapters then decided to put it down. It was a bit to descriptive for me =PRenae wrote:I started reading the book Eve and had to stop. NOT A GOOD BOOK.

Ugh =P I hate it when that happens! Like one series I'm reading, the Selection, it's been so good, but it's kinda been goin' in a bad direction.... I'm praying the next book is just as good as the rest!
Have you ever read Cinder by Stephanie Myers? Awesome book right there!
(Bwhaha, totally called it! )
Last book I read was........ Oh goodness, it's ben forever cause I haven't had time to read lately! *sobs* Probably Outcasts by Jill Williamson. Pretty interesting.

I'm currently reading a book I got free called "Perception". XD It's not the best writing wise, but I like it. I went to the library a few days ago and got a ton of books I've been wanting O.O As soon as I have time, I'm going in my room and never coming out.
An owl and a squirrel are sitting in a tree, watching a farmer go by. The owl turns to the squirrel and says nothing, because owls can't talk. The owl then eats the squirrel because it is a bird of prey.
I have seriously read all the books in my library's teen section (like, legit). It's awful Whenever I get a book in my hands now, I usually finish it in an afternoon

XD Yeah, it was like that for me too. But now the teen section is a huge room AND six shelves in the hallway. It's amazing. *wipes tear* And they have a video game room. B) Just sayin. I love reading, but I have no problem with some "mindless entertainment" xD

I haven't read those other ones but I will DEF look into them *begins process of bugging her mother into taking her to the library*
THAT IS SO ME! My brothers are like "How can you like to read. Yuech!" Books are my food *chomps down on a 300 page novel*Audrey wrote:I'm currently reading a book I got free called "Perception". Same! My youngest brother hates to read. I have since disowned him. I read SO fast xD my friend loaned me a three hundred page book and I literally had it done in an hour and a half. Everyone's always like "Did you really read that? XD"
The longer, the better, I say. I have friends who won't even read a 100 page book... However, as a good friend, I have introduced them to many books they now love. 0=) Such a good influence, right?

I read each of the Eragon books in less than two days I read way to fast... And it stinks on long car rides =P

I knowwwwwwwww. I love my kindle. XD I literally used to bring two huge grocery bags full of books on car rides. Also, am I the only one who has to bring two books somewhere, because I'm halfway done with one and I know I'll finish it and I can't bear being without a new book? XD

So. Do I!! It's awful!!

Stella C., You've read Outcasts? Have you read Captives as well? Was it a good book? I'm interested in reading them, but I'm kind of cautious when starting a completely new series by a completely new author, but I've heard several good things about them.
I'm currently reading the Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien. Interesting, though a little dry in some parts. I do like knowing the origins of Middle Earth though. I loved Tolkien's creation story though! I thought it was so cool the way he did it, with the song and Melkor's rebellion.

They were both really good, and really make you think but they deal with some kind-of-mature issues, so just to throw out a small warning =] but they were really good, and I'm anxiously awaiting the next book!
