Bankruptcy for the Timothy Center?
By Jacob Isom
Recently something happened to alter
Tom Riley, Connie Kendall, the Shepherds, and John Avery Whittaker's life: change. Change
has laid an impact on the people of Odyssey throughout the years, but none like this.
Recent events challenged many attributes of a growing radio drama series.
Tom Riley, formerly mayor of Odyssey,
opened a kids, among families alike, attraction to teach people about the Bible. A year
has gone by since then, and something has gone badly wrong. Churches, schools, and
organizations are canceling their reservations left and right because of difficulties.
This places a significant strain on Tom Riley and Connie Kendall.
Financial problems are a big problem
for many families alike. Now that The Timothy Center is bailing on water, change has a
prime opportunity to knock at the door. And as Tom discovered, change happened.
Novacom, a family company has moved to
town. In desperate need of some land to build a broadcast tower on the outskirts of the
city, Novacom resorts to Tom's land. To Tom, this seems like an answered prayer. And to
Connie, it means that she won't have to raise as much support. And Whit...? What does Whit
think about all this?
With the signing of the deed, Tom faces
a new adventure. Will he be able to prolong the life of the Timothy Center in the days
ahead? What if this sort of problem occurs again? Will they be ready for a future attack
of money problems? As Whit says, God will work through our mistakes. Is this a hint that
Tom has made a poor decision when he signed the property deed?
Is Novacom up to something? Are they
planning to ensue a drastic measure on The Timothy Center in the future? What is Novacom
really about? Teaching children valuable lessons with violence... world domination...
murder? What is in store for the citizens in this nonexistent town of Odyssey?
We all face struggles in life, but we all need to
remember that God's in control and if we have made a poor decision, He will work through
it. I'm sure that Tom Riley knows this now, and we all need to realize it. Our future is
in God's hands. He controls it. He allows things to happen, and he prevents things from
happening. I just hope that whatever happens in the Timothy Center situation, things will
work out fine.
